Alcohol Induced Ischemic Colitis

Abstract
Mesenteric ischemia can present acute or chronic, Acute mesenteric ischemia is mainly caused by arterial embolism or thrombus, but about 10% is caused by venous thrombosis. Sometimes, nonocclusive mesenteric ischemia can occur in eldery persons, congestive heart failure, acute myocardial infarction with cardiogenic shock, hypovolemic or hemorrhagic shock, sepsis, pancreatitis, digitalis or vasoconstrictor administration. I report a case of alcohol induced ischemic colitis, cured by colon resection.
